Nintendo Wii

If Nintendo were intending to spark a worldwide pun competition, they seem to have hit the nail right between the eyes with Wii. Or a stream of Wii as the case may be?

Introducing … Wii. As in “we.” While the code-name “Revolution” expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that separates video game players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games … and each other. But you’re probably asking: What does the name mean?

Wii sounds like ‘we,’ which emphasizes this console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

Wii has a distinctive “ii” spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play. And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of video games that sets it apart from the crowd.

So that’s Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because, it’s really not about you or me. It’s about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything.

  1. Hi everyone.
With the launch of the Nintendo Wii just around the corner, will you purchase one?
If so, what are you most looking forward to about the system?

  3. Absolutely. I’m very keen on getting a Wii just for casual gaming. I do my serious gaming on the PC, but love the odd crazy game on my DS or XBox. I see the Wii replacing both of these.

Also with a 3yo kiddie, I can see him loving the Wii.

  4. The gaming experience just rocks!

Nintendo recently announced that they plan to release an enhanced version of the Wii next year. Not only because of the straps but I think they’ll implement a better drive into it and make some improvements, too. I’m already looking forward to it!

    Happy Holidays!

    Mike
